FAQ

What is Coochie Care?

Coochie Care is a feminine wellness range rooted in Jamaican and Caribbean herbal traditions, created to support external intimate hygiene, balance, and confidence using gentle, intentional formulations.

The range is designed with PCOS girlies and hormonally sensitive skin in mind, focusing on consistent care that supports the body rather than disrupting it.

Are Coochie Care products safe for intimate use?

Yes. All Coochie Care products are designed for external intimate skin only.

They are suitable for areas such as the vulva, mons pubis, bikini line, inner thighs, underarms, face, and body, depending on the product.

They should not be used internally or inserted into the vagina.

Can I use the products inside the vagina?

No. Our products are for external use only and should never be used internally.

What does the Coochie Bar do?

The Coochie Bar is a targeted cleansing and treatment soap designed to support clearer, smoother looking skin in areas prone to ingrown hairs, hyperpigmentation, breakouts, and irritation.

It is the main product in the Coochie Care range that actively targets dark marks and ingrowns.

It helps with:

• Ingrown hairs caused by trapped follicles and dead skin buildup

• Hyperpigmentation and dark marks left by waxing, shaving, acne, or friction

• Post wax irritation and inflammation

• Acne and congestion on the skin

The Coochie Bar is suitable for intimate areas, face, and body.

When used consistently, it supports brighter looking skin across:

• Bikini line

• Inner thighs

• Underarms

• Face

• Body

Is the Coochie Bar safe for face and body use?

Yes. The Coochie Bar is made with nourishing oils and active ingredients that are safe for face and body use.

Key ingredients and benefits include:

• Kojic acid to help improve the appearance of dark marks and uneven skin tone

• Turmeric to soothe inflammation and calm post wax or acne prone skin

• Lavender to support sensitive and reactive skin

• Coconut, olive, and sunflower oils to nourish the skin and prevent dryness

Because the bar contains active ingredients, it should be used 2 to 3 times per week, not daily.

What does the Coochie Cleanser do?

The Coochie Cleanser is a gentle, pH conscious intimate cleanser designed to support the natural balance of the vulva without stripping the skin.

It helps with:

• Daily external cleansing

• Supporting intimate balance

• Freshness and comfort during hormonal changes

The Coochie Cleanser is the evolved version of our original Coochie Wash, reformulated with deeper intention, improved balance, and stronger alignment to traditional Jamaican herbal wellness.

What herbs are used in the Coochie Cleanser and why?

The Coochie Cleanser is inspired by traditional Caribbean feminine care practices and includes herbs such as:

• Hibiscus traditionally used to support feminine balance and skin vitality

• Dog Blood Bush a deeply rooted Jamaican herb historically used in women’s wellness practices

• Vervain traditionally used for calming and soothing feminine care

• Guinea Weed long used in Caribbean cleansing and balance practices

These herbs were traditionally used by Caribbean women to support feminine hygiene, balance, and comfort, particularly during hormonal changes, which is why this cleanser was created with PCOS girlies in mind. They were also used in Jamaican and wider Caribbean practices when women experienced symptoms associated with BV, thrush, or pH imbalance, as part of rituals intended to help bring the body back into balance.

What does the Coochie Oil do?

The Coochie Oil is a deeply hydrating herbal oil designed to nourish and support external intimate skin comfort.

It helps with:

• Dryness and irritation

• Maintaining softness and comfort

• Supporting skin elasticity

• Reducing irritation post wax, shaving, or any hair removal method

Inspired by traditional Caribbean herbal oiling practices, this oil is designed to support women through hormonal shifts, including sensitivity linked to PCOS.

What herbs and oils are used in the Coochie Oil?

The Coochie Oil is made with nourishing carrier oils including sweet almond oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E, infused with a traditional herbal blend.

In traditional practice, these herbs were used when women experienced symptoms associated with BV, thrush, or pH imbalance, to help bring the body back into balance.

It also contains essential oils such as peppermint and frankincense, chosen for their refreshing and soothing properties.

Based on traditional use

What is dry brushing and why is it part of the Coochie Care routine?

Dry brushing is a traditional self care practice used to gently exfoliate the skin and support circulation and lymphatic drainage.

Within the Coochie Care routine, dry brushing helps:

• Remove dead skin cells that can clog hair follicles

• Reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs

• Support smoother looking skin

• Encourage lymphatic movement in the bikini and inner thigh area

• Prepare the skin for cleansing and oil application

Dry brushing is especially beneficial before waxing or shaving, and for PCOS girlies who experience thicker hair growth or recurring ingrowns.

Dry brushing should always be done on dry skin before showering, using gentle upward strokes.

Is Coochie Care suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. All products are created with sensitive and hormonally reactive skin in mind, including PCOS girlies.

If you have very sensitive skin, allergies, or nut sensitivities, we recommend completing a patch test before full use.

How often should I use each product?

• Coochie Cleanser can be used daily

• Coochie Oil can be used daily, morning and night

• Coochie Bar should be used 2 to 3 times per week only

• Dry Brush is best used on dry skin before showering a few times per week, when not using Coochie Bar, and use sunscreen when using on face and body

Always follow the usage guidance provided on each product page.

Can pregnant or breastfeeding women use Coochie Care products?

Because pregnancy and breastfeeding involve unique hormonal and bodily changes, not all Coochie Care products are recommended during this time.

Products to avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding

• Coochie Cleanser

• Coochie Oil

The Coochie Cleanser contains a traditional herbal blend including Dog Blood Bush, a Jamaican herb historically associated with fertility and women’s wellness practices and not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential under studied risks.

The Coochie Oil contains essential oils including peppermint and frankincense, which are not generally recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical approval.

Products to use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding

• Coochie Bar

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should:

• Consult with a healthcare provider or midwife

• Patch test before use

• Use sparingly

• Discontinue if irritation occurs

All products are for external use only.
